We had another early morning excursion and knew we were going to be in a hurry so we pre-ordered room service last night.

On the back of the room service menu there are a few extra fancy items (such as a truffled omelet or steak and eggs) that you can order for an up charge. These were included free for us though, I assume because we were dining in the Penthouse. Ross ordered crab cake Benedict from the special menu and thought it was pretty good.

I had eggs and bacon which were good. The eggs were over-medium as I requested.

After breakfast we met in the theater to wear to be dismissed for our excursion. Jovan, the excellent shore excursion representative who helped us yesterday, seemed to have things well organized on the ship side of things.
When we it outside, it was a little more chaotic. It is very difficult to find the correct excursion group with so many people and groups on the pier and even more difficult with Grandma Trudy who has a hard time getting around. We eventually discovered that Celebrity had merged a few people from our ship, the Silhouette, with a much larger group from the Eclipse, which was docked next to us. The woman in charge noticed that Grandma Trudy and a few others had some mobility issues so she told us to "go on ahead all the way to the busses", before she went back to trying to collect more passengers for the excursion. People were confused and didn't really know what she wanted us to do since we couldn't actually see any busses. Luckily I had been to St. Maarten before and knew the busses were at the end of the dock and to the right, behind some shops so I was able to lead our small group to the correct spot.

It was good that we had been sent ahead though, because by the time we got to the busses we had been overtaken by everyone else on the excursion.

It was a very bright and sunny day!

When we got on the bus, we were joined by our tour guide, Diane, who did a really exceptional job. She was originally from Ireland, but had lived on St. Maarten for the past 30 years. She gave us lots of information about the island with a good touch of humor.
We got some nice seats that had a good view of the ocean.

Our excursion was to Orient beach which is probably the busiest on the island. The lounge chairs are packed pretty close together.

When we got home from our long beach day yesterday, Sweet Pea had gotten a little bit of sun and had rubbed the inside of her arms raw from body boarding. She said that she didn't want to get back in the ocean today, but as soon as we arrived at Orient Beach she was putting on her life jacket and begging us to get in again. Ross took her body boarding for a bit while Grandma Trudy haggled with the plentiful vendors walking by our chairs and hawking their goods. I was able to observe some interesting beach sights while fending off the vendors and chatting with Trudy.

Lunch was a choice of chicken, fish or ribs. It was edible.

As the sun got stronger, I made Sweet Pea take a break and in the shade of our umbrellas.

The waves were really nice so shortly before it was time to go, Sweet Pea and I went back out into the ocean for a bit. We went out far enough so we could "jump" up as the waves rolled by. We had lots of fun!
